The IRREC Aquaculture Research and Demonstration Facility in Fort Pierce

Water Treatment

Water Treatment
The water treatment area consists of two open top 6,000 gallon tanks used to sterilize water before storage in one of the four 6,000 gallon fiberglass silo tanks. The entire facility is serviced by sterilized fresh, low-salinity, and full-strength salinity water. Water can be mixed to any salinity in these tanks and is pumped to the greenhouse and hatchery buildings with a series of pumps and underground pipes.

Water Truck
A semi trailer with two tanks totaling 6,000 gallons of water, transports full-strength salinity water acquired from the ocean.

Generators
The farm is equipped with two large emergency electrical generators to ensure the entire facility functions during power failures
