Jane Bachelor joined the IRREC faculty in 2004. She is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences with a 100% teaching appointment, specializing in the asynchronous, online delivery of upper-division undergraduate-level Human Resources Management, Selling Strategically, and Principles of Agribusiness Management and Master’s-level Organizational and Human Resources Management in Natural Resources.
Ms. Bachelor is the first in the Food and Resource Economics department to teach in the UF Online program, the state’s first fully online Bachelor’s Degree program. She has a dual academic appointment in Gainesville, FL and at the Indian River Research and Education Center in Fort Pierce, FL, where she also serves as the Academic Program Marketing Coordinator.
Ms. Bachelor earned her Myers-Briggs Instructor Certification in 2006 and the Society of Human Resources Professionals’ Senior Professional Human Resources Certifications in 2013 (SPHR) and in 2016 (SHRM-SCP). She was awarded the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Educator Award in 2015. Prior to joining the University of Florida (UF), Ms. Bachelor was a Senior Human Resources professional and consultant, with more than 25 years’ experience working both domestically and internationally in Fortune 100-500 companies, such as Avon Products, Inc.; The New York Times Company; the New York Times Magazine Group; and KPMG Consulting.
