Graduate Assistantship

The Environmental Horticulture Department at the University of Florida is seeking qualified individuals interested in obtaining an M.S. degree. Beginning August 2003, a graduate assistantship, providing two years support at $13,000 per year plus tuition and fees waiver will be available to qualified M.S.-level students. Early application submission is recommended. Specific research areas include but are not limited to: (1) evaluating performance of new plants and/or cultivars under varying interior conditions (2) improving post harvest performance of selected foliage species, (3) diagnose and resolve cultural problems associated with production practices, or (4) improve production efficiency associated with the use of nutrients and pesticides. Students will have the opportunity to learn aspects of commercial tropical foliage plant production, field and laboratory diagnostic/analytical techniques, and plant physiology.
