Pasco Avery's work involves development and evaluation of management strategies for the Asian citrus psyllid in the Indian River region. Using a multi-trophic approach, Dr. Avery assists local citrus growers to develop their own best strategies with which to maximize citrus productivity with the least impact upon the environment. Dr. Avery has worked on various biological strategies for controlling the greenhouse whitefly infesting beans and geraniums in London, England; the Citrus Blackfly Emergency Eradication Spray Program in Miami, Florida; and the control of sugar beet root maggot in Sidney, Montana. Dr. Avery also has over two decades of experience teaching biology and environmental science to International Baccalaureate students in the United Kingdom and high school students in Austria and the United States. |
