Dr. Jawwad A. Qureshi, Assistant Professor
Research: Entomology and Nematology
Dr. Qureshi's research program is aimed at investigating and developing tools and tactics for implementing knowledge based Integrated Pest and Disease Management programs useful for conservation of natural resources, improved environmental quality and sustainable crop production systems.
Dr. Qureshi's research emphasis is on citrus, a $10 billion industry in Florida, and with other horticultural commodities.
His research subject areas include: biology, ecology, behavior and management of the insect and mite pests and their natural enemies; plant, pathogen, vector and environment interactions; and chemical control for both organic and conventional production systems and urban areas.
The research program addresses both basic and applied questions and seeks stakeholder collaboration.
