Soil and Water Science is about the study of how soil and water interfaces with agriculture, or agroecology. IRREC professors study soil elements, water quality and how the two impact crop production. One of the primary goals for soil and water science research is environmental protection.
The entomology program at the UF/IFAS Indian River Research and Education Center involves the study of invasive insects and their natural enemies. Research is conducted in the Norman C. Hayslip Biological Control and Research Laboratory for candidate insects to control invasive species.
