Water Quality

Dr. Brian Boman, Professor of Agricultural Engineering, leads IRREC's Water Quality program. An expert in irrigation as it pertains to crop production, Dr. Boman develops, implements and evaluates agricultural best management practices (BMPs). Additional areas of his work involve water and nutrient management for agricultural crops, and crop water use; design, operation, and maintenance of irrigation systems; and agricultural development in third world countries.


In addition to Dr. Boman's water quality programs, his is also leading research for candidate crops for biofuels production.

Hoophouse greenhouses on Haiti mountainsides

Dr. Boman has provided extension services to Haiti farmers through USAID. The farmers produce high value crops inside of the hoophouses.
